Infants
Birth to 18 months
Our infant programs offer stimulating environments that are caring and nurturing and focus on the specific needs of each child. Our talented and qualified staff are warm and responsive, ensuring that each child feels safe and secure. Sensory activities are planned to develop the child’s five senses. Music and movement is geared to infant needs as is the introduction of age appropriate activities that develop the child’s intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth.
Toddlers
18 Months to 2.5 years
This program offers many opportunities for the children to begin to develop a healthy sense of independence and empathy for others in a loving and nurturing environment. The five senses continue to be explored regularly in the activities presented. Speech and language development is a focus along with opportunities for dramatic and social play. Games and activities to enhance physical development and activities that introduce math and science for toddlers are provided.
Preschoolers
2.5 years to Senior Kindergarten
Our early learning program is designed to support the Ontario government’s “Early Learning For Every Child Today” document and the Ontario Ministry of Education’s guidelines for full day learning. Early literacy activities, Jolly Phonics, Math and Science opportunities and a wide range of structured plans to develop the child’s overall school readiness are offered

Collins Bay Child Care Centre
In 1999, upon invitation by the Parent Council of Collins Bay Public School, we designed and developed the Collins Bay Child Care Centre, a program for infants to school age. This centre operates in partnership with the Limestone District School Board and reflects the community need for child care, while offering a seamless day for school age children. An early opening of 6:30 a.m was implemented to support families having an early work shift.

St. Martha Child Care Centre
In 1995, 3 years prior to the amalgamation of the new City of Kingston, Kingston Day Care recognized the need for child care in the former Pittsburg Township, and as an active community partner, set out to explore this option. A notice of tender was presented in the Whig Standard by the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Board; Kingston Day Care submitted a proposal and was chosen as the successful organization.
In 1996, St. Martha Child Care Centre was initially licensed to provide care for children 16 months to preschool age. The provision of infant care and school age care were then implemented in response to community need. St. Martha Child Care Centre provides a seamless day for children attending St. Martha Catholic School while supporting parents’ child care needs.

Trillium Child Care Centre
In 2003, Kingston Day Care’s Board of Directors was asked to work in partnership with Dacon Incorporated and Specialty Care Trillium Centre to consider designing and building a child care centre within their newly expanded retirement centre.
In March 2004, Kingston Day Care received a license from the Ministry of Community and Social Services to operate our second location in the west end of Kingston, the Trillium Child Care Centre. The centre’s hours of operation provide the flexibility to provide care for children birth to preschool, between the hours of 6:30 a.m and 6:15 p.m. These identified hours of operation provide for “workplace child care” and address community need. The value of the opportunity for seniors and children to interact in this setting is immeasurable.
